Amy Amyx started as a gymnast at the age of 2. She tried out for cheerleading in the 8th grade and fell in love with the sport. Amy went on to cheer at Yorktown High School, where she was a varsity cheerleader for 3 years, served as the captain of her squad as a freshman and senior, and was named a UCA All-Star twice. Amy also helped coach the Yorktown Middle School cheerleaders for 3 years while in high school. After high school, Amy attended Ball State University, where she was a cheerleader for 2 years. She then went on to coach the cheerleaders at Yorktown High School from 1998-2003. Amy graduated Summa cum Laude from Ball State University and now works full time as a Registered Dietitian at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. In 2005, she joined Sport Kids Gymnastics as an All-Star Cheerleading Coach and has helped lead the All-Star teams to many national championship titles, including their first two in the 2008-2009 season and an International All-Levels title in Small Mini Level 1 in 2011. Amy has a true passion for the sport of cheerleading and aspires to instill that passion in the cheerleaders she coaches.
